IS MY GOOD LUCK ALSO BAD ..???

31 Jul

I often wonder … is bad luck really that common..??? or some people are destined to bad luck..they fall into traps often..maybe I’m one of them… or maybe I’m the one..!!!

A stupid thought crossed my mind, forcing me to jot down a couple of points to validate my argument..

  • Why is it so that i come face to face to the only person I’m avoiding …..does it ever happen with You??
  • Why is that there’s always a car parked infront of my car and i just have to keep waiting for the other guy to remove it??
  • feels like talking to a friend..call all the friends.but no one picks up the call.. 😦
  • Why is it that i keep on falling and tripping over VISIBLE things…???
  • THE word is there.. in your mind..big and bright..but when you want to say it..it does’nt come out what should i say..??? mmmmmm…… FORGOT..!!!
  • Being caught up in funny and silly situations ..making me more sillier or probaby the silliest… WHY MEEEE??????
  • I feel sooo sleepy at times and when i try to sleep..I just cant sleep..!!! WHY…!!!
  • I just keep on forgeting important things ( do i have an amnesia???) …. calling up a friend and getting to know its her birthday.. sounds bad na..!!!  😦

the LIST is endless..but now i am used to it..I simply keep on smilling at these silly billy things..making me look even more stupid…  😦 and i actually cant help thinking .. IS MY GOOD LUCK ALSO BAD..!!!!

A story of an IT engg…

28 Jul

Once upon a time, there was a software engineer who used to develop programs on his Pentium machine, sitting under a tree on the banks of a river. He used to earn his bread by selling those programs in the Sunday market.

One day, while he was working, his machine tumbled off the table and fell in the river. Encouraged by the Panchatantra story of his childhood
( the woodcutter and the axe )
He started praying to the River Goddess. The River Goddess wanted to test him and so appeared only after one month of rigorous prayers. The engineer told her that he had lost his computer in the river.
As usual, the Goddess wanted to test his honesty. She showed him a match box and asked, ”
Is this your computer ?
” Disappointed by the Goddess’ lack of computer awareness, the engineer replied, ” No.”

She next showed him a pocket-sized calculator and asked if that was his.
Annoyed, the engineer said ”
No, not at all !!”

Finally, she came up with his own Pentium machine and asked if it was his.
The engineer, left with no option, sighed and said “Yes.”

The River Goddess was happy with his honesty. She was about to give him all three items, but before she could make the offer, the engineer asked her, “Don’t you know that you’re supposed to show me some better computers before bringing up my own ?”

The River Goddess, angered at this, replied, “I know that, you stupid donkey! The first two things I showed you were the Trillennium and the Billennium, the latest computers from IBM !”. So saying, she disappeared with the Pentium!!

INDIA SHOCKED….!!!

When the wound of jaipur bomb blast are still green, while the IT city Bangalore was just recuperating from the serial bomb blast day before yesterday, now Ahemdabad  has been rocked by a series of bomb blast. WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING??

Every year India suffers a series of such blasts in various parts of the country but after the initial knee jerk statement that name SIMI and various jihaadi organisations we hear nothing more about the investigations and the culprits. After each bombing we hear the same old statements and TV reporters and security agencies keep telling us that there is no panic among the people and security is in a heightened state. But what use is ‘ heightened security’ after the mayhem?

If we say with so much confidence after each blast that some ‘xyz’ organisation is responsible then why cant we prevent more from happening? Why cant we nab the culprit and smash there evil network? What are we waiting for..some kind of cataclysmic blasts that shred the country into bits? Do we have any real, effective security agencies devoted to investigation of the bomb blasts that are happening with the frightening  regularity? Do we have any leader/party that has the political will and guts to take this problem head on without keeping worried eyes on the vote banks? We did away with POTA and it was touted that doing away with the draconian law would generate goodwill and reduce the reason that contributes to these action. Shouldnt we be admitting the folly of that action now.

It is almost nauseating, the repititiveness of the words that our reporters and politicians keep parroting after each incident. Please stop telling us how high is the spirit of people in affected areas after these incidents. Whose spirits are high anyways? The people who lost their loved ones? The people who are maimed for life? The children who are orphaned? The family who are left without the wage earners?Whom are they trying to kid? Whom are they trying to convince with these statements? It is easy to stand outside the hospitals and near the bomb blast sites after the incident and say all this but it is what we should be really saying?

Please tell us that the people are shattered , tell us that people are angry, tell us that the police are helpless in face of such organised terror, and tell us that we are ill prepared. stand in front of an injured person or his family and then tell us the truth. Because unless the truth is told no serious effort will ever be made in this country to try and end this dance of death unleashed with monotonous regularity by terrorists. Fot too long we have been in a state of denial about this cancer that is eating our country from within. Its time now to stand up  and say we are hurting, to admit that our lives are being cruelly affected, to show and share our pain and our tears.

Solutions can be devised only if we admit that there is a problem. So let us shame and force our leaders into acknowledging that terrorism is a serious problem that needs to be tackled now

‘BITCHDOM’

25 Jul

One of my  acquaintance sent this email to me recently. i found this absolutely brilliant and very much true. i am not the kind of a person who who forward mails to people for infinite goodluck and enormous wealth. but somehow felt it worth sharing that mail with you all ( no luck and wealth factor here..!!)..

here it goes

 ΒÍΤÇΗÐØΜ

When I stand up for myself and my beliefs, they call me a bitch.
When I stand up for those I love, they call me a bitch.
When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts or
do things my own way, they call me a bitch.Being bitch means I won’t compromise what’s in my heart.

It means I live my life MY way. It means I won’t allow anyone to step on me.

When I refuse to tolerate injustice and speak
against it, I am defined as a bitch.

The same thing happens when I take time for myself instead of
being everyone’s maid, or when I act a little selfish.

It means I have the courage and strength to allow myself
to be who I truly am and won’t become anyone else’s
idea of what they think I “should” be.

I am outspoken, opinionated and determined.
I want what I want and there is nothing wrong with that!

So try to stomp on me, try to douse my inner
flame, try to squash every ounce of beauty hold within me.
You won’t succeed.

And if that makes me a bitch, so be it. I embrace
the title and proud to BEAR IT

WHY ON EARTH SHOULD I PAY TAXES…….???

22 Jul

Why on earth should I pay taxes? Why on earth should I listen to ads that say “pay taxes” to taxpayers using the taxpayers’ money and without providing any services to me? Why should I subsidize the education of minister’s kids who will then pull out guns and injure me using the police protection that I provide them? Why on earth should the PM, who is my servant, tell me how I should go about using the money that I have earned? Why should my taxes be used in building empty airports in Bihar/UP? Why should my taxes be used to house ex-ministers and ex-babus? Why should I pay a so-called protection agency that does not protect me but prey on me? Why shouldn’t I revolt and just stop paying taxes? Why should not I vote with my wallet? Why can’t the ones, who are voting a buffoon to power, finance his whims and fancies? Why can’t all the taxpayers in India unite and just stop this bleeding? Won’t all the swagger and grandeur that these thugs show just disappear without money? Why can’t we treat the government like some sort of a service agency that cleans the roads and protects its customers? Why does it have to be full of moral priests who tell me what I should do with my money?

If we want to change, there really isn’t much time left. We just can’t keep running a welfare trust for the politicians and goons, by buckling under our supposed moral responsibility of feeding the starving millions of India. If I want to feed the starving millions of India, I’d rather do it myself than handing over the money to some kurta-clad thug with that insincere smirk on his face.

Look at the fuss around…most of which is in the name of God??

21 Jul

As can be predicted by the title and the pic above…I am writing about the main dilemma that exists in the minds of many people around the world…Right from the creation of the universe—to the existence of god, innumerable questions ponder in the minds of people from young to old…While most of these questions seem logical there are still a vast majority of them that are completely immaterial…Most importanat one of all of these being the “Existence of God”….

Recently i saw a typical melodramatic hindi movie…which shows god as in very simpler forms of life, portraying God to be present in any form, monitoring everything on earth from the heaven to being someone sitting next to us or even being a Paan waala for instance…Another fallacy depicted in the movie is the notion that God gives plus/minus points to evrybody, a person who does a good deed gets a plus point and vice versa…Although this notion is good to be taught to a little child, but i dont think its strong enough to trigger a level headed brain…Such movies put an even bigger question mark on the actual existence of god which till now even science has failed to prove…No scientist has been able to prove the existence of god as yet…but they do agree to an extent on this topic, that somewhere there exists this power/force which drives us…

When we look around us, what do we see?? Beggars begging in the name of “God” (eg. “Allah ke naam pe de de”)…people ready to kill each other in the name of god…People looking down at people of other religions…Just the name of God has become a very critical issue at the moment…With people around ready to fight with the govt. whenever it attempts to demolish a house of god(read temple, mosque, church etc.) i dont know why they fail to realise that God is not restricted to just the name of the religion or the formof God…Its time people take a step forward and act maturely for “God’s sake”…

Besides all this fuss we even have been taught in our childhood days that god resides in us…our inner self (rather called SOUL) is what makes a “Direct Connection” to God…I personally feel that when you have faith in yourself, you can do it…No one can stop you from winning, not even god if you work hard and push in your best…Undoubtedly I’d say that God exists, and i have faith in God…but that doesnt mean that i’d blindfold my eyes in the name of religion or god whatsoever…

The main motive behind my writing on an issue like this has been my seeing a news on a news channel the other day…It showed about a so called BABA…who’s a very famous preacher in India & abroad…He is renowned for showing people the path to Nirvana & even helps people with their problems…What this particular news channel claimed was that 2 children were killed by some associates of that BABA & adding to that were the faces of their remorseful familes being telecasted repeatedly, crying for justice…While the law system of the country brings forward the truth no man can touch that BABA or even point a finger against his associates who committed the crime…Why have we become so blind, that we have to depend on people like him to attend such people’s satsang(s) and all?? Why is it that we just can’t let go off such things & use our brains…Instead of spending our time & money on such BABA’s satsang’s we can always spend it on our work & other things where we’ll get fruitful results…

I think we should open our eyes and find an end to this chaotic situation..as the solution lies in our hands…its time we join hands and fight against such evil practises prevelent in our society…The quest for God is eternal…All that we know is that God lies within ourself…in our soul…its we who have the responsibility of keeping our soul alive…& staying away from the evil & fight for it as and when required…God is one & cannot be divided on the basis of casts, creed or color as we have divided people…All masses should unite, & i guess thats what will actually bring peace in our life’s & in our society…

I know in practice is sounds a tedious thing to even think off…but then as they say it “NOTHING’S IMPOSSIBLE”!!!

Get ready for nuclear showdown

21 Jul

Governments in developing countries like India are influenced — in a positive or negative manner — by popular issues like price rise, corruption, bad infrastructure, etc. On the other hand, in developed nations like the US and those in Europe issues are generally abortion, stem cell research, euthanasia, Darwin’s theory of evolution, etc.

So the manner in which India’s politics is revolving around the Indo-US nuclear deal is as much unusual as it is surprising. India is not — at least as of now — a country where such a complicated, technical issue can be considered as one that will vote in or vote out a government.

It’s quite some time that the issue has been hogging national media attention. To begin with, it was euphoric riding on the after-effects of George Bush’s visit to India. Not much was heard about the Left’s opposition then. Gradually, when details of the draft of the safeguard agreement, which has now gone to the IAEA, began to emerge, Left began to see red.

The whole issue has been driven by CPM general secretary Prakash Karat. His and fellow comrades’ anti-Americanism is such, it wouldn’t be matched by even those in China or Russia. Listening to all the rhetoric, I wonder if the Left would have opposed this deal had it been China or Russia instead of the US. Also my guess is that Karat’s predecessor, Harkishen Singh Surjeet would have handled this issue much more realistically than the present leadership.

The Left must remember that India’s agreements with the erstwhile Soviet Union were not entirely balanced. During those days we were virtually a puppet of the Soviet Union, though it was never described such. That’s not the case today: India is looked upon with respect and admiration.

Little-known issue

I don’t think ever in the recent past, an issue that few people have understood has held the nation’s politics to ransom. Even all the learned scientists haven’t been able to fathom the full import of the complicated deal. When some scientists oppose the deal one doesn’t know if they are doing so out of ideological reasons or on technical grounds.

The issue is heading for climax: on July 22 we will know if the Indian government will live to carry the nuclear deal forward. The ridiculous manner in the issue has been bandied about by politicians (like it’s anti-Muslim, it’s a surrender to the US, BJP is more dangerous than Bush etc), I have my doubts on the standard of debate that will precede the vote.

Finally if the voting on the nuclear deal will be based on whether Bush is better or worse than BJP, then it’s going to be truly tragic. The debate should be on the lines of India’s energy needs. Incidentally, top news now a days is about the power shortage most states are facing. I don’t think we need to be a great scientists to know that our requirements of energy will be huge in the coming years considering the way we are growing.

Get ready for a carpet bombing by the Congress and the Left with information on the deal. I hope it will educate all of us — most importantly, the MPs.

A chance missed

Ideally, Congress from the beginning should have included the BJP in the discussions. Because issues such as this, which concern our energy needs, are not political or ideological: they impact our very living. In the US there is tradition of getting “bipartisan support”. It’s the equivalent of what in India we call “across party lines”. While in the US this phrase is very often heard, it’s equivalent in India is a rarity. Historic agreements like the Indo-US nuclear deals should be collectively steered by the nation’s best brains. Had the Congress reached out to the entire political spectrum and nurtured the deal through all-party meetings they could probably have avoided this situation of the deal hanging fire.

Oops! Did I step on your self esteem?

21 Jul

Have you ever watched an Aishwarya Rai interview? It is perhaps the single most tiring thing to watch on TV after the saas bahu serials. After the interviewer finishes his question, you turn to her expectantly for the reply and what do you get? A lot of umm errr hmmm ahem before and after each word in the sentence till you realize that it will take a long time for her to reply and when she does, in between all those umm errr hmmm ahem the reply shocks you with its inanity. Most of the questions posed to her are more intelligent than the answers and the poor interviewer continues with his questioning for the sake of the program whether the reply makes sense of not!

Unlike other beauty contestants, Ms Rai still lives in the beauty pageant. There is very little of her that comes through in an interview. Every word she says is carefully and calculatingly delivered for maximum impact. You can see some furious thinking going on as she talks pausing before each word as though weighing it, leading to very protracted and labored replies to questions. Her pose i.e the chin up as soon as the camera turns on her, also reeks of Miss India training.

Now she is married to a man who is not only eloquent but knows what he is talking about. The decimation of Ms Rai has begun.

I was watching a CNN IBN program the other day. The program played host to the entire Sarkar Raj Bachchan clan i.e Aishwarya, Abhishek and Amitabh with Ramgopal Verma. While Abhishek handled the questions with aplomb, Aishwarya came off as an air head with her err umm hmm routine. In fact she did not manage to say a single sentence and hubby had to intervene to save her face and airtime. And intervene he did with a grim face and none of the newly wed infatuation he displayed not too long ago. The charm of Ms Rai seems to be wearing off.

There was a moment in the interview when the interviewer turned to Abhishek and asked “How does it feel being the son of one of the best actor in the world and being married to the most beautiful mom in the world.” The “mom” was a slip of the tongue. Aishwarya corrected him immediately, and then realizing that she may have insulted the MIL turned to hubby and said ingratiatingly “Of course he has the most beautiful Mom in the whole world.” The decimation of Aishwarya Rai, the person was complete.

Whether at a Awards function or film premiere, Aishwarya stands behind the Bachchan men and hubby even replies to questions thrown at her as she characteristically wastes time on the umm errr hmmm ahem routine.

The fact that she was now a Bachchan was delivered rather bluntly by hubby when he said “My father is the center of my universe”. I gasped and looked at Ms Rai, she sat like a dumb blond without batting an eyelid.

R.I.P Miss Aishwarya Rai. Long live Mrs Airwarya Bachchan.

Was it really worth it? I mean marrying into the so called “First Family” of Bollywood for the sake of the title Mrs Bachchan! Or was this an enormous endorsement campaign? Perhaps the Bachchans and the Rais laugh their way to their separate banks. Nothing else can explain this marriage.

p.s Ms Rai Bachchan, your neck shows your age. Time for a neck lift!

India is the richest country in the world!

20 Jul

Right now, India is the richest country in the world! Wondering how? It’s really amazing.

It’s due to Mr. G Vaidyaraj, who donated all his wealth, about which he actually did not know.

He is a descendent of Raja Krishnadev Raya from Mysore district.

For the last 300 years or so, three stones were worshipped in his house..But nobody tried to see what it was, except this person, who is a
lawyer by profession. One day, when there was nobody in his house, he took the stone out to see what it was that they worship.
Due to the dust deposited on it, from many many years, it looked only like a simple stone.
But when he touched it, some portion of the stone was cleansed.
And he saw a bright ray of light.
He saw something which attracted his attention. And he was amazed when he cleaned all of them. The whole room was filled with light.
He discovered they were diamonds of about 4600 carats each.

He informed the Govt. of India and the news is censored with its security.
It’s now deposited in a Swiss Bank.
The cost of single diamond exceeds the GDP of USA + UK.
India can buy virtually 7 developing nations.
Even World Bank does not have enough money to buy it.
One diamond costs thrice the debt of World Bank over India.
One such diamond can buy 10 Bill Gates to you.
And the World Bank has proposed the Indian Govt. that it can pay India in Installment if it wishes to do so.

India’s GDP is 34.25 billion dollars.

Bill Gates property is 95 billion dollars approximate so that is the way ‘nature changes’.

Our Prime Minister has refused to sell it.

He said it will be sold or mortgaged for credit when we need it. Otherwise right now we have no problems.

You can go through Times of India with a small column on it a month ago.

Star TV presented a 115 min documentary on it about few days ago.

The Hindu with its half page article in it.

After that it was censored as classified.

Another good news is that in the Desert of Thar a deposit of Oil and
Natural gas have been found. This stores what Kuwait has in its stomach.

India can go with this ONGC energy reserve with another 30 years.
And moreover it can export it to other counties.
It’s incredible!! But true.

An Indian boy in his 12th standard has disproved Einstein’s ‘Theory of Relativity’.
Shocked? Read on…

Sudarshan Reddy has theoretically proven the existence of a sub-atomic particle, which can travel at speed greater than that of light, thereby challenging one of the fundamental postulates of the ‘Theory of Relativity’.

In his recent research paper submitted to the Institute of Advanced Physics (IAP) at Trieste (Italy), Sudarshan has proved the existence of a class of sub-atomic particles called leptons’, which can travel faster than light.
The international physics community is shocked by this discovery.

Dr.Massimo Martelli, President of the IAP has this to say about the paper submitted by Sudarshan. ‘After long, careful and critical
analysis, I can confidently say that Sudarshan’s re search papers show tremendous leap in our understanding of physics. His investigation
mounts up on ‘leptons’. His work builds substantially on the work of Einstein and others in the field of relativity.’
When physicists from Princeton University tried to measure Sudarshan’s IQ with an IQ-meter (at the American Embassy in Delhi), the meter broke down.
Sudarshan, incidentally, is the brother of Madhu Reddy, the Indian whiz kid who developed an operating system superior to Microsoft Windows.
We should all be very proud of these boys.
